Methodist Ladies’ College is one of Australia’s most respected and innovative schools, with over 2,100 students from our Early Learning Centre to Year 12. MLC Banksia is located on the Banksia Peninsula, offering excellent access to the Gippsland Lakes and environs. MLC Banksia provides curriculum based sequential Education Outdoors programs for students from Years 5 – 8.
MLC Banksia is currently seeking an experienced and innovative Food Services Coordinator to manage the provision of high-quality centre generated catering for all aspects of the Education Outdoors programs from the site, reflective of a focus on nutrition and to meet the diversity of dietary needs.
The successful applicant will coordinate the daily operations of the kitchen and casual catering staff. They will proactively liaise with parents, students and staff in the development and management of catering requirements and delivery, in line with regulatory, legislative and procedural practices. Additionally, they will employ exceptional attention to detail, be highly organised and collaborative in approach, working in a dynamic environment with a committed MLC Banksia staff team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential along with proven experience in commercial cookery and or in group catering, together with passion to contribute to the education of young people and a commitment to the principles of sustainable practices.
Food Handling qualifications are a requirement in accordance with minimum competency standards for Hospitality, Food Safety Supervisor as well as knowledge and experience in the implementation of ASCIA guidelines as they apply to commercial food services and delivery.
This position is full time ongoing, during term time with days of work including Sundays, commencing Term 4, 2019.
