Methodist Ladies' College (MLC) is one of Australia's most respected and innovative schools with over 2,000 students from our Early Learning Centre to Year 12.  We currently have an opportunity for an experienced and dedicated professional to lead the Student Counselling Team.

The Head of Student Counselling provides dynamic leadership to manage the of the operation of a professional student counselling service. The Student Counselling team provide professional consultation and short-term counselling to students (Prep - 12) and their families and is part of a range of support services and student wellbeing initiatives which aim to optimise student wellbeing and learning.

Social Work or Psychology qualifications are essential, as is experience with leading a team/ or providing professional supervision. Extensive counselling experience with children, adolescents and their families, ideally in an educational setting is required.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate effective leadership, communication and negotiation skills with a range of people including students, parents, staff and external professionals.  Masters/ Post Graduate qualifications in Psychology/ Counselling/ Family Therapy will be highly regarded.

This is a full time ongoing position, commencing September 2021 with 8 weeks annual leave.
